the fields of cultivation, livestock, forestry and aquaculture and policies to encourage
the development of organic agricultural production. The production and trading of
organic agricultural products are encouraged.

By 2020, the Project on organic agriculture development for the period 2020-
2030 was approved in Decision No. 885/QD-TTg dated June 23, 2020 of the Prime

Minister. The Project was built on the basis of the actual practice, methods and general
orientation of the Project on restructuring the agricultural sector towards increasing
added value and sustainable development. This is also the consistent direction of the
Central Government, the Government and the Prime Minister in recent years and the
agricultural sector has been actively implementing this policy. In addition, organic
agriculture is a development trend and will develop rapidly in the coming time, due to

ensuring the provision of better products for human health and for society.
On June 23, 2020, the Prime Minister issued Decision No. 885/QD-TTg approving
the Project on organic agriculture development for the period 2020-2030. The project
sets the goal: Developing organic agriculture with high added value, sustainability, and
friendliness to the ecological environment, associated with a circular agricultural
economy serving domestic consumption and export. Organic agricultural products are
certified to comply with regional and international organic agricultural standards;
