In 2020, the COVID-19 pandemic broke out globally, severely affecting the
tourism industry for more than 2 years. By early 2022, when the pandemic was
basically under control, the tourism industry gradually recovered and developed. In
2023, the number of international visitors to Vietnam reached 12.6 million (recovering
70% compared to 2019); domestic visitors reached 108.2 million (up 127.3%
compared to 2019); total tourism revenue reached 678.3 trillion VND (equal to 93.4%

                  compared to 2019).
The infrastructure system and technical facilities for tourism are increasingly
improved, both in quality and quantity. In 2011, the country had about 13,756
accommodation establishments, with a total of 256,739 rooms; In 2019, the number of
accommodation establishments increased to 30,000 with 650,000 rooms, and in 2023, it
will be 38,000 establishments with 780,000 rooms. The types of accommodation are
increasingly diverse, from high-class accommodation establishments (4-5 star hotels,

high-class tourist apartments, tourist villas) to 1-3 star hotel systems, tourist motels,
houses with rooms for tourists to rent (homestay), tourist villages, tourist
accommodation ships, etc. In particular, the accommodation establishment system
increasingly focuses on service quality as well as landscape design, room space, and
green motels, close to nature, environmentally friendly, and meet market requirements.
Many accommodation establishments have received the "Green Label" and “ASEAN

                  Green Hotel” awards.

run cities receiving the "ASEAN Green Hotel” award. The localities with the most hotels
receiving the award are: Ho Chi Minh City: 10; Hanoi: 07 hotels; Ba Ria - Vung Tau:
