DISCUSSIONThe paw edema model is a commonly used experimental method in pharmacology to assess the anti-inflammatory effects of various substances. In this model, inflammation is typically induced in the paw of an animal, often a rat or mouse, by administering an irritant or inflammatory agent, such as carrageenan or formalin. Both agents are valuable in research for studying the mechanisms of inflammation and testing the efficacy of anti-inflammatory drugs. The effectiveness of antiinflammatory drugs can be evaluated by comparing the paw swelling in treated animals to that in control animals. A reduction in paw edema indicates that the tested substance has antiinflammatory properties. This model is valuable for screening new anti-inflammatory compounds and understanding their
