Currently, there are many different understandings and definitions of green
tourism, green tourism development, tourism development in the direction of green
growth:
- According to Nguyen Dinh Thanh (2023): Green tourism is tourism based on the
rational and effective exploitation of natural resources, development associated with
environmental protection, biodiversity conservation, greenhouse gas emission reduction
and climate change adaptation; Green tourism aims to use resources effectively for
sustainable economic development and preserve and develop local cultural values 194 .

- According to Truong Sy Vinh (2019): Green tourism development is a method
of tourism development that aims to achieve three economic, social and environmental
benefits through green tourism product development, green tourism consumption and
green tourism management 195 .
- According to Nguyen Anh Tuan, Le Quang Dang (2022): Developing tourism in
the direction of green growth is a development method based on respecting, preserving

and effectively promoting resource values; implementing green tourism management,
business and consumption activities; consuming less energy, developing and using
renewable energy; at the same time, creating jobs, improving livelihoods and bringing
happiness to people, contributing to building a green economy and realizing sustainable

development goals .
Developing tourism in the direction of green growth is a method to achieve green
tourism, aiming at the highest goal of sustainable tourism. The relationship between

tourism development in the direction of green growth with green economy and
sustainable development is shown in Figure 2:
