PHYTOCHEMICAL COMPOSITION, ANTIOXIDANT, AND ANTI-INFLAMMATORY ACTIVITIES OF LIGHT AND HEAVY ESSENTIAL OIL FRACTIONS FROM CINNAMOMUM CAMPHORASon Dang Bao1, Anh Luu Ngoc Dam2, Anh Tu Hoang2, Han Thai Gia3, Ha Nguyen Minh3, Anh Ho Ngoc3,*Abstract: The essential oils of Cinnamomum camphora were separated into two fractions: a lighter-than-water essential oil (LO) and a heavier-than-water essential oil (HO), yielding 6 mL and 0.75 mL, respectively. The bioactivities of these fractions were evaluated for antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. The LO fraction exhibited superior antioxidant activity with an EC50 value of 37.9 %u00b5g/mL compared to 55.8 %u00b5g/mL for the 1 Institute of Biotechnology and Food Technology, Ha Noi Open University, Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi, Vietnam 2 Vietnam National Museum of Nature, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, Cau Giay, Hanoi, Vietnam 2 Vietnam National Museum of Nature, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, Cau Giay, Hanoi, Vietnam3 Institute of Biotechnology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, Cau Giay, Hanoi, Vietnam3 Institute of Biotechnology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, Cau Giay, Hanoi, Vietnam3 Institute of Biotechnology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, Cau Giay, Hanoi, Vietnam* Correspondence: Institute of Biotechnology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, Cau Giay, Hanoi, Vietnam
