142 PROCEEDINGS OF INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE ON APPLIED BIOTECHNOLOGYThere were 16 ingredients in the Dak Lak dried black pepper essential oil. Among these compounds, the highest mass percentage was determined for Caryophyllene of 26.47%, followed by 3-Carene of 17.31%, D-limonene of 18.7 % and %u03b2-pinene of 9.97 %. Vietnam and China are two largest countries producing and exporting black pepper in the world. As comparison in the Table 2, biochemical compositions of black pepper essential oils in the two countries are significant differences. Especially caryophyllene which was not reported in Chinese black pepper essential oil but found in Bangladesh, India and Vietnam ones, in which Vietnamese black pepper oil from Dak Lak province contains caryophyllene as the most abundant components with proportion of 26.47%. 4. DISCUSSION4.1. Influential conditions for essential oil recovery yield from black pepperIn terms of type of raw material applied, the dried and fresh black pepper with the same mass of material, the density of oil in the dry material is higher than in the fresh one. Additionally, it is possibly understood that the fresh material had high content of moisture, which might liberate to the oil droplets in the matrix, interfering secretion of oil into solvent for evaporation. It has been not found in the literature of comparison of the efficiency of essential oil extraction from dried and fresh pepper. However, in a related study of attaining rosemary essential oil by steam distillation conducted by Valtcho D. Zheljazkov et al. (2015) [24], it was reported that oil yield (content) from dry biomass was higher (0.43%) than that from fresh biomass (0.35%). This was confirmed that using fresh and dry biomass reducing material moisture levels will oppositely result in essential oil yield increase. Therefore, it is necessary to study suitable drying methods for
