According to the data, the number of online shoppers has steadily increased over

the years, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. In 2023, Vietnamese people spent
an average of $336 per person on online shopping.

In 2019, China and the United States were the main countries contributing to
e-commerce-related plastic packaging pollution. China's e-commerce sector generated

221.5 million kg of plastic packaging waste, while the U.S. contributed 212.7 million
kg, with an estimated global total reaching 942 million kg.
