Living environment quality indicators:
Proportion of population with access to clean water: The percentage of the
population with access to clean and safe water.
Proportion of urban solid waste collection and treatment: Measures the proportion
of solid waste in urban areas collected and processed correctly.
These indicators are established to monitor and evaluate the progress of
development according to the green growth model, providing a foundation for building
sustainable development policies, protecting the environment, and enhancing resilience
to climate change challenges.
2.3. Green growth measurement indicators for enterprises
Green growth is not only a requirement for a modern economy but also an
opportunity for businesses to innovate, improve production processes, and utilize
resources more efficiently. By transitioning to environmentally friendly production and
service models, businesses not only comply with legal regulations but also enhance their
reputation, expand their markets, and reduce energy costs.
A business is considered green if it offers green products or services and/or has
green production processes. Green products and services are environmentally friendly,
use resources efficiently, and minimize waste. Conversely, businesses that improve
production processes to consume less energy and materials, generate less waste and
emissions are also considered green. Additionally, a green business creates a good
working environment and welfare system for employees. Some criteria related to green
growth in enterprises include:
Output Product Criteria: Producing high-quality products; using new materials and
energy.
Innovation Criteria: Upgrading technical equipment to increase labor productivity;
developing and using new and high technology.
Environmental Criteria: Producing energy-efficient and environmentally friendly
products or products used in environmental protection; implementing clean technology,
clean energy, and renewable energy projects; engaging in production activities with low
energy consumption and emissions, complying with environmental protection laws, and
having sustainable environmental protection solutions.
3. The potential and prospects for green growth in Dong Nai within the
overall context of Vietnam
In the context of global climate change and the demand for sustainable
development, green growth has become an inevitable trend not only in Vietnam but also
in dynamic economic localities like Dong Nai. The concept of green growth here is not
only related to reducing greenhouse gas emissions but also encompasses technological
innovation, enhancing energy efficiency, and sustainable resource management within
businesses. Dong Nai, in particular, is playing a pioneering role in transitioning toward
a sustainable economic model aligned with the national green development goals.
