Performance of selected immobilized microorganisms in biodegradation of ammonium-rich agricultural wastewaterThe concentration evolution and ammonium removal efficiency are shown in Figure 5.In the initial stage when the input ammonium concentration was around 10 - 20 mg/L, the output ammonium concentration was low, leading to a high ammonium conversion efficiency, of up to 99.98%. In this stage, ammonium was well treated, achieving high efficiency. When the input ammonium concentration increased to 40 mg/L, the output ammonium concentration increased higher than in the initial stage, but the difference was not much, causing the ammonium conversion efficiency to remain high at around 97%.
