EVALUATION OF INITIAL RESULTS OF HOLSTEIN FRIESIAN CATTLE BREED FIRST RAISED AT A HIGH-TECH DAIRY FARM IN PHU YEN, VIETNAMAnh Tran Thi1, *, Quang Nguyen Hung2Abstract: High-tech dairy farming is proving to be a successful approach in many provinces of Vietnam, such as Nghe An, Lam Dong, Gia Lai, and Moc Chau. However, in Phu Yen - a central province with a harsh tropical climate and limited experience in this field, the application of high technology in dairy farming remains a challenge. Since its inception in 2019, the project has lacked comprehensive evaluations of the growth and development potential of Holstein Friesian (HF) cattle when applying advanced husbandry techniques such as intensive farming systems, freestalls, specialized milking areas, and total mixer ration. This study focuses on evaluating newborn calf indicators and weaning relationships between factors such as birth season, weight gain, and weaning age in a herd of 341 calves at the hightech dairy farm in Phu Yen. Results show that calves born in spring have a higher weaning age (80,14 vs. 79,16 days), significantly greater 1 Thai Nguyen University of Agriculture and Forestry, Thai Nguyen University.
