SECTION II. APPLIED BIOTECHNOLOGY IN THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY... 4670.012025 with p-value = 0.0000, showing that weaning weight has a positive effect on weaning age.4. DISCUSSIONThe average birth weight of Holstein-Friesian calves in Phu Yen is 35.59 %u00b1 3.94 kg, which is consistent with the breed%u2019s characteristics and similar to domestic and international studies. The use of purebred HF breeding stock combined with high technology application has helped the project quickly achieve the basic targets for the breed. Additionally, we observe that the husbandry conditions in Phu Yen ensure normal development of calves from the fetal stage. Seasonality has a significant effect on birth weight, with calves born in spring having higher weights compared to winter. The weaning age and weaning weight of Holstein-Friesian calves in Phu Yen also show seasonal differences, with spring-born calves tending to develop better. The main factors influencing calf development include average daily gain (ADG) and weaning weight, while birth season has a less significant effect. This aligns with recent global studies, highlighting the importance of focusing on manageable factors. Overall, the research results show that raising Holstein-Friesian calves in Phu Yen achieves efficiency comparable to other regions domestically and internationally.5. CONCLUSIONSThe average birth weight of Holstein-Friesian calves in Phu Yen (35.59 %u00b1 3.94 kg) is consistent with breed characteristics according to the study by Olson et al. (2009) and other studies. The influence of birth season on birth weight, with spring-born calves typically having larger weights. However, factors such as ADG and weaning weight are considered more important for calf development. This study confirms that the HF cattle raised in Phu Yen with high technology have met the characteristic birth
