DPPH scavenging activity was notably higher on pomegranate peel for most strains. Basidiomycota strains as P. pulmonarius BV13 (79.4%) and C. prunulus BV18 (75.2%) showed strong antioxidant activity, with both being higher than 50%, indicating strong radical scavenging potential. L. brumalis BV9 (65.2%) also showed good scavenging activity, while G. applanatum BV14 had moderate activity (42.2%). In contrast, Ascomycota strains showed lower DPPH scavenging activities, with only X. longipes BV1 (59.4%) exceeding 50%, indicating moderate antioxidant potential. The other Ascomycota strains, such as X. polymorpha BV5 (51.1%) and H. cucullata BV15 (57.2%), had lower but still significant activity, while H. cucullata BV15 on PDA medium showed very low scavenging (9.6%). Basidiomycota strains exhibited higher flavonoid production and stronger DPPH scavenging activity, particularly on pomegranate peel, highlighting their greater potential for antioxidant properties. Ascomycota strains generally had lower flavonoid production and DPPH scavenging activity, with a few strains showing moderate activity, but none reaching the levels of Basidiomycota strains. The pomegranate peel substrate appears to enhance both flavonoid production and antioxidant activity across all strains, especially in Basidiomycota fungi. This suggests its potential as a substrate for producing bioactive compounds with antioxidant properties.3.3. Correlation between factorsThe evaluation results indicate that the relationship between flavonoid content (%u00b5g quercetin ml%u22121) and the activities of two enzymes (laccase and catalase) within a solid-state fermentation system (Fig. 1A). There is an inverse relationship between laccase and catalase activities. As flavonoid content increases, laccase activity tends to increase, while catalase activity shows
