On PDA medium, P. pulmonariusBV13 (54.1 %u03bcg quercetin ml%u22121) and C. prunulus BV18 (46.1 %u03bcg quercetin ml%u22121) produced the highest flavonoid levels among Basidiomycota strains, while Ascomycota strains produced much lower levels (e.g., X. longipes BV1 with 11.8 %u03bcg quercetin ml%u22121). On pomegranate peel supplemented medium, P. pulmonarius BV13 strain produced the highest flavonoid (464.1 %u03bcg quercetin ml%u22121), followed by C. prunulus BV18 (373.1 %u03bcg quercetin ml%u2212B).
