hydroelectric plants is also one of the reasons why the culture, environment, and ecology
of the forest must give way to storing water for hydroelectric plants. Wind power
producers are wind turbines, so the noise emitted from the string turbines pollutes the
noise.
6. Conclusion and policy suggestions for Vietnam
Generating electricity from renewables is one of the optimal solutions in ensuring
energy security in the context of increasingly depleted resources and increasing input
material prices in an unstable world context. However, electricity generation from
renewables in Vietnam still has many obstacles such as high production costs due to
lack of technological solutions, electricity flow is unstable due to lack of storage
methods effectively, it is also a cause of environmental pollution due to having to cut
down forests for hydroelectric power, using resources to manufacture solar cells, and
many others. To pass the obstacles mentioned above in generating electricity from
renewables, Vietnam needs to:
Firstly, enhancing investment attraction in scientific and technological research
and development (R&D) on renewable energy. It is necessary to invest in research and
development of solar cell technology, wind turbine manufacturing technology, biomass
power technology, etc.
Secondly, strengthen the development of highly qualified human resources to
serve the development of the electricity industry, increase investment in universities and
research institutes with training majors in the field of renewable energy.
Thirdly, raise public awareness of the need to develop renewable energy through
multimedia and educate children from school.
Fourthly, encourage people's participation in developing renewable energy such as
wind power and solar power by providing financial support and technical guidance in
developing wind power and self-produced and self-consumed solar power installed on
people's rooftops and other construction works.
Fifthly, build a government financial support mechanism for electricity products
from renewable energy sources such as tax reduction or cash subsidies for companies if
they use renewable energy sources.
