Abstract: In recent years, digital transformation (DT) and green transformation (GT) have
become intertwined priorities for businesses worldwide, particularly for emerging economies like
Vietnam. As environmental concerns and technological advancements rise, Vietnamese enterprises face
increasing pressure to integrate these two transformative strategies. This paper explores the intersection
of digital transformation and green transformation within the Vietnamese business context, analyzing
challenges, opportunities, and best practices. The study aims to highlight how these dual transitions can
foster sustainable growth, efficiency, and resilience for Vietnamese enterprises. This paper also
provides recommendations for leveraging digital technologies to enhance sustainability and minimize
environmental footprints while driving economic growth.

1. Introduction
The rapid pace of technological advancement and the growing urgency of
addressing climate change have brought digital transformation (DT) and green
transformation (GT) to the forefront of business strategies worldwide. Digital
transformation involves the integration of digital technologies into all areas of business,
fundamentally changing how organizations operate and deliver value to customers (Vial,
2019). On the other hand, green transformation focuses on reducing environmental
impact through sustainable practices such as energy efficiency, waste reduction, and the
adoption of clean technologies (Geissdoerfer et al., 2017).
For Vietnamese enterprises, the intersection of these two transformations is
particularly significant. As an emerging economy, Vietnam has experienced rapid
industrialization and economic growth over the past decades. However, this growth has
come at a cost to the environment, with rising levels of pollution and depletion of natural
resources. At the same time, global competition and the fast-evolving digital economy
are pressuring Vietnamese enterprises to modernize their operations and embrace
innovation (World Bank, 2021). This dual challenge - achieving sustainability while
remaining competitive in the digital age - places Vietnamese enterprises in a unique
position.
The Vietnamese government has recognized the importance of both digital and
green transformations as part of its long-term development strategy. Vietnam’s National
Digital Transformation Program 2025, with a vision toward 2030, sets ambitious targets
for increasing the use of digital technologies across various industries, while the
country's Law on Environmental Protection (2020) emphasizes
