INTRODUCTION
In the context of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, which is currently accelerating,
the rapid advancement of digital technologies, big data, and artificial intelligence (AI) is
fundamentally reshaping the structure and operation of the global economy. The digital
economy has increasingly emerged as a key driver of economic growth, innovation, and
national competitiveness. In this process, AI is regarded as a core technology with the
potential to generate significant breakthroughs across various sectors, including
manufacturing, finance, education, healthcare, tourism, public administration, and human
resource development.
In Vietnam, the national digital transformation agenda is being vigorously
implemented with the aim of building a digital economy, a digital society, and a digital
government. In this context, conducting research, promoting academic exchange, and
sharing international experiences in the development of the digital economy in the AI era
are of particular importance. These efforts not only give scholars, policymakers, and
businesses a place to talk about new technological trends, but they also help come up
with practical solutions and policy suggestions to speed up digital transformation and
promote long-term economic growth.
The proceedings entitled “Digital Economy in the Era of Artificial Intelligence” have
been compiled based on a selection of research papers contributed by scholars, experts,
and lecturers from both domestic and international institutions, focusing on the
development of the digital economy in the context of the increasingly widespread
application of artificial intelligence (AI). The included studies examine various critical
dimensions of the digital economy in the AI era, including international experiences,
technological innovation, digital transformation in enterprises, public governance, human
resource development, and consumer behavior in digital environments. Several
contributions examine the developmental experiences of leading countries in the digital
economy, thereby extracting valuable lessons for Vietnam in enhancing its national digital
economy. In addition, many papers highlight the role of AI and big data in sectors such as
banking and finance, marketing, logistics, and tourism, providing important evidence and
analytical frameworks to enhance management efficiency and foster innovation.
Furthermore, the studies emphasize the importance of education and the development of
a digital workforce, while also examining changes in consumer behavior and business
models amid the rapid expansion of digital payments, e-commerce, and digital services.
These research directions have contributed valuable scientific arguments and policy
recommendations to the process of digital economic development in Vietnam and have
been organized into the main thematic groups of this Proceedings volume: (1) Institutions,
policies, international cooperation, and sustainable development; (2) Digital
infrastructure and innovative enterprises in the AI era; and (3) Human resources, skills,
and education for the digital economy.
Despite the considerable efforts devoted to the selection and editorial process, the
proceedings “Digital Economy in the Era of Artificial Intelligence” inevitably contain
certain limitations. The organizing committee sincerely welcomes constructive feedback
from scholars and readers to further improve future academic publications.
Respectfully,
