SECTION II. APPLIED BIOTECHNOLOGY IN THE PHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY... 415world (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines) have implemented methods to improve coral sand. These methods include using materials like seaweed, mountain palm, and animal manure (goat, pig, sheep, or chicken) as organic materials. These materials are composted and mixed into the coral sand to grow food crops. The research group of Vu Thi Quynh Chi (2022) [7] conducted a study on improving coral sand soil using solid biological preparations with organic materials as a substrate after mushroom cultivation, vermicompost, and composted cow manure. The preparations were supplemented with local microorganisms that produce polysaccharides, which improved soil fertility and supported plant growth and resilience. The initial results were promising. In addition, biological materials such as biochar, organic materials, or a combination of these two components are also applied to enhance the physical properties of sandy soil, thereby improving crop yields [1][2].This study proposes a new, environmentally friendly biological solution for improving sandy soil. It involves using fermented organic fertilizer made from rice straw, supplemented with microbial preparations to create microbial organic fertilizer. This approach aims to enhance the productivity of vegetables grown on the sandy soil of the Truong Sa archipelago, taking advantage of readily available agricultural by-products. 2. MATERIALS AND METHODS 2.1. Materials Sea sandy soil is collected from the Spratly Islands, Truong Sa District, Khanh Hoa Province.Rice straw is collected in some suburban areas of Hanoi after the harvest.
