Enhance waste management practices: Improve recycling programs and waste
management systems to reduce environmental impacts. Promoting circular economy
principles and supporting innovations in waste-to-energy technologies can enhance
resource recovery and minimize waste.
Foster Innovation in Green Technologies: Support research and development in
emerging green technologies, such as energy storage, smart grids, and carbon capture
and storage. Create a favorable regulatory environment for green tech startups and
provide funding opportunities for innovative projects.
4.2. For Vietnam
Develop renewable energy infrastructure: Invest in the infrastructure and
technology needed to maximize the potential of solar and wind energy. Grid
modernization and energy storage solutions are critical to integrating renewable energy
sources and ensuring a stable energy supply.
Foster the electric vehicle industry: Encourage local and international companies
to invest in electric vehicle manufacturing through favorable policies and incentives.
Building a robust EV infrastructure, including charging stations and maintenance
services, is essential to support the growth of this sector.
Increase Public Awareness and Education: Conduct educational campaigns to
raise community awareness of the benefits of green growth and the importance of
environmental protection. Engaging communities and stakeholders in sustainability
initiatives will foster a culture of environmental stewardship.
Enhance sustainable agriculture practices: Promote sustainable agricultural
practices that reduce environmental impacts, such as organic farming, agroforestry, and
precision agriculture. Support smallholder farmers with access to training, resources,
and markets for sustainable products.
5. Conclusion
Sustainable economic growth is essential for a prosperous and resilient future. By
categorizing and evaluating business activities using the GRCS, we can identify key
sectors and strategies to drive green growth. Canada and Vietnam, despite their differing
economic contexts, can enhance their sustainability efforts through targeted investments
and policies. Canada's challenge lies in transforming its energy sector, while Vietnam
must ensure that its rapid economic growth does not compromise its environmental
sustainability. Both nations will need to continue strengthening their policies and
investments in renewable energy and sustainability to meet global energy and
environmental criteria in the coming years.
