advancing technology. It is forecasted that major countries such as the US, EU, China
and India will continue to lead in promoting renewable energy development.
Developing smart and green transportation and infrastructure: The trend of
developing green transportation systems such as electric vehicles, hydrogen-powered
vehicles and other zero-emission vehicles will continue to increase. Many major cities
around the world have been transitioning to clean public transportation, as well as
encouraging people to use bicycles and walk. In parallel, the development of smart and
sustainable infrastructure will be a priority, from waste management systems to water
networks and smart power supply systems.
Strengthening sustainable agriculture and green supply chains: Sustainable
agriculture will also be an area that will receive special attention. Farming techniques
that consume less energy, use resources efficiently and protect the environment will be
widely applied. Green supply chains, with the use of environmentally friendly raw
materials and the application of green technologies in production, transportation and
consumption, will also thrive, promoting a circular economy.
Developing advanced technologies to support the green economy: Advanced
technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), blockchain, Internet of Things (IoT),
and big data will play a critical role in optimizing green processes, from resource
management to emissions monitoring. These technologies will help improve production

efficiency, reduce resource waste, and improve environmental management capacity .
International cooperation in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): The
implementation of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) will
continue to be a top priority for many countries. Countries will strengthen international
cooperation to achieve goals such as poverty reduction, combating climate change and
protecting biodiversity. This is also an important trend in promoting the global green

economy .
4.2. Opportunities and challenges for ASEAN in developing a green economy
Opportunities for ASEAN
Potential for natural resources: The ASEAN region has a lot of potential for
natural resources for the green economy, including solar energy, wind energy,
hydropower and biomass. Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines and Indonesia are
emerging as countries with strong potential to develop renewable energy, especially
solar and hydropower.
International integration and investment attraction: ASEAN has been
participating in many trade agreements and regional economic partnerships, including
agreements to encourage green economic development. This opens up opportunities to
attract foreign investment in green projects, especially in the field of renewable energy
and clean technology.
44 Business greening: No one's problem.
