Abstract: In today’s world, the environment is under serious threat because the world's
development speed is increasingly high. A wide range of factories, works, and workshops release into
the environment a lot of emissions and hazardous waste every day, leading to serious environmental
pollution. In order to gain sustainable economic development, the green economy has become an
inevitable trend for countries worldwide to achieve economic growth without devastating the
environment. A green economy is simply an economy with low emissions, efficient and economical use
of natural resources, ensuring social equity, reducing carbon emissions, environmental pollution, and
using energy and resources efficiently, preventing the loss of biodiversity and ecosystem services. A
large number of programs about environment in the world have been done so far such as United Nations
Environment Programs (UNEP) to carry out programs to minimize climate changes, biodiversity and
natural resource protection, encourage nations to conduct economic development with global
environment worldwide or The United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED)
known as the Rio Conference or the Earth Summit. Researching and making effective analysis on the
green economy will help economists or entrepreneurs have long run views on sustainable economic
development.

markets’ development whereas developing countries focus on solutions to poverty-
related problems and plans for sustainable development. The BRICS - a group of
countries namely Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa has opted a strategy of
efficient use of natural resources to develop their economies.
In Vietnam, the government has recently paid attention to the issue of green growth
and sustainable development seriously. The process of implementing green economic
development in Vietnam has received a lot of help and support from international
